🎒✨ What a fantastic couple of days! ✨🎒
On Monday and Tuesday, we welcomed our upcoming Year 7 cohort to King’s Academy Brune Park for their official transition days—and wow, did they bring the energy!
Our new students dove headfirst into secondary school life, exploring the campus and getting a taste of the exciting subjects ahead. Just a few of the highlights included:
🔬 Science: Getting hands-on and experimenting with convection currents.
🎭 Drama & English: Crafting short plays based on the Jabberwocky, and mastering the art of Shakespearean insults and slang! (Thou art a beetle-headed flap-ear’d knave!)
🧮 Maths: Traveling back in time to decode how the Ancient Egyptians wrote their numbers.
💻 Computer Science: Putting on their detective hats to crack complex codes.
🚀 Design & Technology: Blasting off by designing and launching their very own rockets!
...and so much more!
We are incredibly proud of how quickly they settled in, asked brilliant questions, and supported one another. If these two days were anything to go by, this year group is going to achieve amazing things.
A huge thank you to all the staff who made these days possible, and an even bigger thank you to our new Year 7s. Enjoy your summer break—we can't wait to see you all again in September! 💙

This morning, Mrs Longden-Thurgood had the privilege of meeting with all of our Celebration Friday nominees. 🎉 Each pupil was nominated in recognition of their hard work 💪, resilience 🌈, kindness towards others ❤️, and the fantastic scores they have achieved in their assessments 📚⭐.
We are incredibly proud of every one of you and the wonderful example you set for our school community. Keep shining! ✨👏 Well done to you all! 🥳
