Partial School Closure: Confirmed details for Thursday 19 March

We have seen a continued increase in staff and student absence today following Government advice for ‘at risk’ groups and self-isolation.  We can confirm, at the time of writing that we have no confirmed cases of Coronavirus amongst staff or learners.

Thursday 19 March we will run a partial closure with year 7 and 11 in school periods 1 to 4 (finishing at 12.50.)

School is closed to years 8, 9 and 10 with work provided for these year groups (details below.)

We will continue to assess the staffing situation and update parents and carers about arrangements for Friday 20 and beyond as soon as possible.

If you are an NHS key worker or teacher and this partial closure would result in you not being able to attend work, please call the school reception.

We appreciate the disruption this may cause to families and the education of our young people. However, we are sure you will understand these are exceptional circumstances. These measures will enable the school to continue functioning with safe staffing for those learners who are present.

We are expecting further advice and guidance from the government later today, and will use the school website to post any updates.

Accessing Work Online – Years 8, 9 and 10

Resources for students to work on over the next two days can be accessed here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Li9ikz5-JzzMYnkotx78CqzDX8n_gHix

Accessing work for self isolating students

At this stage we do not have capacity in school to provide individual work for a child who is self-isolating. We are asking our teaching staff to focus on the lessons they are teaching and the online resources for the year groups to whom the school is closed.

Students who are self isolating can access the Seneca and GCSEpod resources accessed here: https://kgabrunepark.uk/online-resources-for-students-and-parents/

Thank you, as ever, for your continued support.
