We have just heard that Brune Park students and Art teacher Matt Walker have won the much coveted RHS awards for:
Best overall project, Most innovative project and pupil’s choice for their garden design ‘The Park.’ As the winning school and students the RHS work with us and the students to produce the garden for us and our community at Brune Park.
What a remarkable achievement!
Congratulations (and a HUGE thank you) to Melody, Stan, Freyja, Amber, Kayleigh, Blake, Sam and Mr Walker. And to RHS mentor Emma Dunne for all her support!
The judges commented on the quality of our students’ artistic and design abilities and said the students’ design was a: ‘ garden for well being, a garden to improve a school and a garden for the community – a feature not present in any other entries.’
Jilyane Rickards (Gold medal winner at Chelsea) said: ‘The creativity washed through their words and knowledge. They have a wonderful spirit and enthusiasm that was unmatched in this room today. They are just great kids. the sensitivity was immense.’
