At King’s Academy Brune Park, our unique Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) program is a cornerstone of student life. We understand that effective career guidance can elevate aspirations, boost motivation, and break down barriers to success. Our program is designed to expand horizons and cultivate the skills and attitudes necessary for all students to make well-informed decisions about their future education, training, and employment paths.
All of our students have access to a planned and progressive programme alongside tailored support, enabling them to develop and apply the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to make realistic career decisions for the modern world.
We are proud to be working towards fully achieving the Quality in Careers Standard. Our programme is based around the Gatsby Benchmarks, a nationally recognised framework of best practices for career education, and delivered through a combination of Careers-focused days, assemblies and presentations, tutor time sessions, mentoring, curriculum-based learning, workplace visits, 1:1 guidance and events. We welcome guest speakers from local and national employers and education and training providers to raise awareness of all employment routes and highlight the advances in apprenticeships and technical and vocational pathways for all our learners from Years 7 to 11.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we annually review the effectiveness of our Careers program using a Plan-Do-Review-Act model. We measure the impact of our program by analyzing destination data, monitoring student engagement levels, and gathering feedback from key stakeholders, including students, staff, parents, and employers. This process allows us to track our progress against the Gatsby Benchmarks and identify any areas for improvement.
As part of our commitment to providing the best possible career guidance, we have partnered with Hampshire Futures. This partnership gives us access to CDI members who are qualified to at least Level 6 in Careers Guidance and Development. They provide tailored and impartial advice and guidance, are on the Professional Register, and fully abide by the CDI Code of Ethics, enhancing the support we offer to our students.
The information detailed on this page is reviewed throughout the academic year with the next formal review scheduled for Autumn 2025.
