King’s Academy Brune Park are proud to celebrate a remarkable improvement in student attendance across our schools — a testament to the incredible commitment and teamwork of our students, staff, and families.
Against a national backdrop of declining attendance (with a 1% drop across schools), our Academy has not only reversed the trend but made substantial gains:
- Whole school attendance is up to 90.36%, a significant increase from 88.1% in 2023/24.
- Persistent Absence (PA) has reduced by over 7%, meaning more students are in school consistently.
- Among our disadvantaged pupils, we’ve seen an 8% reduction in persistent absence — helping to close the gap and promote equity.
- The number of pupils attending school more than 95% of the time has increased by 20%.
- Pupils attending over 90% of the time has risen by 5% — a clear sign that attendance is improving across the board.
These improvements aren’t just statistics — they reflect the daily efforts of dedicated teachers, supportive families, and students who are showing up, engaging, and thriving.
Regular attendance opens doors. It means more time in the classroom, stronger relationships, broader opportunities, and a better chance of success in life. As the national image shows, being in school even 95% of the time — that’s just 10 days off a year — gives children the best chance to succeed. And at King’s Group Academies, more and more of our students are hitting that target.
Thank you to everyone who has played a part in this success. Together, we are helping our young people build bright futures, one school day at a time.
