Mock Results Evening
16th January 2020 – 4.30pm – 6.30pm
Dear Parents and Carers
On the 16th January 2020 we are delighted to invite both our Year 11 students and their parents, to attend Mock Results evening in the main hall.
Students will be able to collect their results from the recent mock exams, and spend some time speaking to subject specialists about their grades and what they now need to focus their efforts on, in order to make gains. We will be giving away lots of very useful revision material, for students to take away and use at home. Subject specialists will be very happy to talk to parents about how best they can support revision at home, and offer an opportunity to ask any questions you might have about revision, and preparation for the summer exams generally.
Mock results evening is a drop in event, so please do attend with your youngster if you can, at any point during the evening. Students will be asked to obtain signatures on the evening from subject specialists, indicating that they have collected the relevant revision materials. Their completed signature sheet can then be ‘traded’ by students the following day in school, for their lunch passes for the rest of this half term, and their ‘save the date’ invites to Prom.
We will also be running ‘how to revise effectively’ talks, at key points throughout the evening, should you wish to attend:
5pm with Ms O’Grady
5.45pm with Mr Stokes
We’ll be talking through:
· How can I revise most efficiently and effectively?
· Which techniques actually work and why?
· Where do I start?
· How do I best support my youngster with revision at home?
· How do I make sure every minute of revision counts?
We’ll be sharing some practical techniques and top tips, which can help to take the stress out of revision, and make the most of every minute of independent study – to ensure that students are getting the absolute most, out of the time they spend revising at home.
Please come along and find out more about how you can support with revision, in the most effective ways.
We look forward to seeing you there.
