We are seeking an inspirational Music Leader to lead and develop Music and Performing Arts across our secondary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious practitioner to combine excellent classroom practice with subject leadership, curriculum development and staff support.

This role would suit an experienced Music teacher ready to take on subject leadership, curriculum development and the support of colleagues, alongside delivering high-quality classroom practice. The post includes leading Music across the secondary age range and co-leading the annual school production with Performing Arts colleagues.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging Music lessons across the secondary age range
  • Lead and develop the Music curriculum, raising standards and outcomes
  • Provide leadership, guidance and line management to colleagues within the department
  • Champion Music across the school and contribute to whole-school priorities
  • Manage resources effectively and support professional development
  • Co-lead and coordinate the annual school production alongside Performing Arts colleagues

As the essential link between our school and governing body, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that our governance runs smoothly, effectively, and in line with statutory requirements.

Profile – Clerk to Local Governing Board

Hours: Approximately 42 hours per year, spread across 39 weeks. This includes preparation, attendance, and post-meeting documentation for six Governor Meetings (around 7 hours per meeting).

Salary: KGA Band 6, Point 12 FTE £30,552 (will be prorated)

Start date: on completion of safe recruitment checks

The Clerk may also be called on to cover school meetings and payment for overtime if more than the total number of contracted hours worked will be paid at the contractual hourly rate.
