Youth Parliament Trip to the Commons

Youth Parliament students were thanked for their hard work this year with a trip to the Parliament Terrace.

They met with Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage and discussed a range of issues including mental health, the condition of Gosport High Street and improving support for Hampshire foster children.

Year 9 student, Harvie, said: “I enjoyed discussing the future of our High Street as well as the importance of tackling homelessness and job creation.”

Students also visited the Supreme Court, Downing Street and watched debates in the House of Commons and House of Lords.

Year 10 student, Harrison, said: “Watching the Commons debate on the Online Safety Bill was my personal highlight, this issue is really important to young people.”
